Common Payroll Questions

When will I get paid?

Check your payroll calendar in the ADP portal under Pay → Payroll Calendar. Your first paycheck typically arrives 1-2 weeks after your start date, depending on when you were added to payroll and your company's pay schedule.

Why is my paycheck different than expected?

Common reasons include: different number of hours worked, changes to tax withholdings, new benefit deductions, one-time bonuses or adjustments, overtime rates, or PTO usage affecting hours. Review your pay stub details section by section to identify the difference.

How do I change my tax withholdings?

Navigate to Profile → Tax Information → Update W-4. Changes take effect on the next payroll processing, typically 1-2 weeks. Consult the IRS Tax Withholding Estimator tool to determine appropriate withholding levels.

Can I get pay stubs from previous employers?

Only if your previous employer also used ADP and your account is still active. Otherwise, contact your former employer's HR department directly. ADP can only provide access to pay stubs for current employment relationships.

What if there's an error on my paycheck?

Contact your HR or payroll department immediately. Take a screenshot of the error. Most companies can issue correction payments or make adjustments on the next paycheck. Keep documentation of all communications.
